Arts and culture in the Latrobe Valley

Background:

The Latrobe Health Assembly recently undertook a large community engagement exercise which identified that some people felt that there were very little opportunities for children, adults and the elderly to participate in drama, arts and crafts activities.

The Latrobe Health Assembly would like to address this gap within the community’s social inclusion opportunities however we first must understand the demand, goals and obstacles (perceived and real) for people to participate in activities based around drama, arts and crafts.

We have several interactive tools to enable your feedback (below) which include:

  • An ‘Ideas’ tool where you can provide suggestions for drama, arts and crafts ideas that the Latrobe Health Assembly could develop
  • A general forum where we are asking members of the community that already run drama, arts and crafts programs. This forum aims to be a general advertising space for community groups to share information about what they offer, help recruit new members and spread the word about existing initiatives.
Rules for advertising in this forum include:
    • Programs or initiatives must be free or low cost and open to all people.
    • Please provide details on how community members can get in touch to find out more.
    • Advertising for programs/initiatives that do not fit the drama, arts and crafts topic will be removed

Do you run (or know of) a drama/arts/crafts program? If so, why not share it here for other people in the community to find and connect with your classes.
